I started making quilts because of the beauty of them. There are probably thousands of quilt patterns and some are more popular than others. I believe that everyone should have a handmade quilt. Not only are they beautiful but they are functional as well, keeping us warm in the winter. There is just something about a handmade quilt, not only does it provide warmth to the body but it brings warmth to the soul as well.

When I was a child I lived in a northern climate and although I live in a warm climate now I still remember those cold days and nights. I never had a warm handmade quilt to cuddle up with. I guess this is one of the driving forces behind my quilt making.

All of us quilters are so fortunate to have the beautiful fabrics available to us now that there is just an infinite variety of what can be made.
